As we come upon the 50th anniversary of America’s 1964 Civil Rights Act, and the 60th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision, it was a delight and an honor to speak with the three stars of “Master Harold”…and the boys, coming to the Wharton as A Wharton Center Theatre Production, under the direction of Bert Goldstein. Athol Fugard, a white South African wrote this play as an autobiographical tale of the harsh bigotry of 1950’s Apartheid South Africa. We kick off the show with Gavin Lawrence, who plays Sam from this production.
