
LANSING, Mich. – Maner Costerisan, a full-service public accounting and business consulting firm, announced leadership advancements earlier this month, including the addition of Kyle Schafer, CPA, and Jeff Allen, CPA, ABV to its board of directors and the promotion of four team members to principal.

Principals named to the Maner Costerisan board of directors are the following:
Jeff Allen, CPA, ABV, principal, has more than 18 years of experience and specializes in valuation, expert witness testimony, financial and treasury management, forecasting, budgeting, executive leadership training and financial consulting. After joining Maner in 2006, Allen gained corporate experience at a global medical manufacturing company before returning to the firm in 2018. Since then, he has been promoted to principal and has played a key role in leading the firm’s growing consulting practice, including as a fractional CFO. A Williamston resident, Allen earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Western Michigan University and an associate’s degree in business administration from Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
Kyle Schafer, CPA, joined Maner Costerisan in 2009 and serves as a principal in the Audit department. He specializes in assurance and attestation services for nonprofit organizations, including compliance audits subject to the Uniform Guidance. Schafer is an active member of the firm’s Nonprofit Industry Committee, which focuses on staying at the forefront of accounting practices, industry trends, and other relevant topics impacting nonprofit organizations. He also serves on the Audit Department Committee, helping guide audit strategy and stay ahead of emerging industry trends. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University and resides in Eagle.In addition, Maner Costerisan promoted Tyler Baker, CPA, CGFM®; Abby Daugherty, CPA; Steven Guipe, CFP®, CPFA®; and Kris Latchaw, CPA, PAFM, to principal. The principal promotions include two leaders whose career paths reflect a broader definition of partnership at an accounting firm—one rooted in firmwide operations and another shaped by a flexible, part-time schedule.
Tyler Baker, CPA, CGFM®, who initially joined the firm more than a decade ago in 2014 as an intern, has been promoted to principal in the Audit department. He specializes in audit and advisory services for governmental clients, including municipalities and school districts. Baker is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants’ Government Accounting and Auditing Expert Panel and is a frequent presenter for firm-hosted education and government webinars. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Spring Arbor University and resides in Grand Ledge.
Abby Daugherty, CPA, serves in the Accounting and Outsourced Solutions department, where she delivers customized outsourced services to clients. She began her career at Maner in 2013, later gaining client-side experience at a national insurance company and at Michigan State University Foundation, before returning to the firm to work part-time. A recipient of the Michigan CPA (MICPA) Emerging Leaders Award, Daugherty holds a master’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University and resides in Okemos.
Steven Guipe, CFP®, CPFA®, has been promoted to principal and director of wealth management, where he leads Maner Wealth. Guipe joined the firm in 2021 and works closely with clients to develop highly customized financial plans aligned with their long-term goals. He earned the Certified Financial Planner designation and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor credential, demonstrating advanced expertise in comprehensive financial planning and fiduciary best practices for retirement plans. A Grand Ledge resident, he holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Spring Arbor University.
Kris Latchaw, CPA, PAFM, a Grand Ledge resident, joined Maner Costerisan in 2011. She is responsible for overseeing operations, finance, human resources and internal support services. With more than 20 years of experience in the accounting industry, she is actively involved in the CPA Firm Management Association, where she serves as a national board member and past chair. Latchaw is a graduate of the University of Michigan.The promotions of Daugherty and Latchaw reflect the firm’s commitment to recognizing leadership and impact across a range of roles and career paths, beyond the traditional public accounting model.
