Giving Tuesday – as an emergency response to the dramatic increase in need caused by COVID-19.
· Although this is an unprecedented time in our history, being on the front lines is not new for The Salvation Army. Throughout its 153-year ministry, it has delivered programs and services rooted in hope – which is a critical component to overcoming adversity.

· Nationally, The Salvation has served almost every ZIP code in America during this pandemic. Closer to home, our Western Michigan Northern Indiana Division has provided:
§ 40,589 Meals (including home delivered meals and food boxes)
§ 2,175 Hygiene Kits
§ 792 Personal Protection Equipment
§ 9,368 Emotional and Spiritual Care Contact (including virtual contact)

· With increased demand for aid expected to continue over the coming weeks, months, and potentially years, ongoing public support will be needed to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with compassion and dignity.
