Development of Ford project will continue, adding 2,500 local jobs to Marshall

MARSHALL, Mich. – The following statement can be attributed to Jim Durian, CEO of Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance:

“Calhoun County Circuit visiting Judge William Marietti today heard motions by MAEDA, along with the city of Marshall and its clerk, seeking to dismiss a lawsuit intended to slam the brakes on the Ford project in Marshall. While Marietti considers motions to dismiss the complaint, Ford’s BlueOval Battery Park Michigan stays on track to create more than 2,500 local jobs.

“BlueOval Battery Park Michigan enjoys strong support in Marshall and beyond because it will spark investment and pump millions into our local economy, helping small businesses like restaurants and area shops, grocery stores, and hardware stores.

“It will also create long-term, good-paying jobs for young people, so they don’t have to move away to find good-paying jobs and help create a new talent pipeline right here that will provide young people the skills and training to compete for the jobs of the future.”
