Explore resources for individuals with disabilities during National Employment Awareness Month

Observed each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month celebrates the contributions of individuals with disabilities in our workplaces and highlights the impact good jobs can have.

Michigan Rehabilitation Services understands the importance of access to good jobs for all. That’s why they work hard every day to provide individuals with disabilities with personalized training and resources to help them gain the skills they need to find competitive employment.

Learn how to apply for UIA benefits during coaching sessions

Workers applying for jobless benefits for the first time can get online guidance from trained instructors with the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) who will walk users through the steps they need to follow to qualify for payments.

Virtual sessions are available mornings and afternoons, Tuesday through Friday, and led by trained UIA instructors.

Upper Peninsula Regional Career Outlook

New Regional Career Outlooks now available

To help guide Michiganders toward high-demand, high-wage jobs, the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) recently released its latest regional long-term career outlooks. These resources offer valuable insights into the most in-demand careers across the state through 2032.

The 10 regional publications highlight top high-demand occupations by education and training levels. Each region’s outlook reflects its unique economic landscape and workforce needs, providing tailored guidance for students, jobseekers, educators and workforce development professionals.

Pathfinder has been updated with new data!

Pathfinder, Michigan’s free online career exploration tool, recently received its annual data update. The updated data ensures Pathfinder has the most current education and occupation metrics to assist Michigan’s career explorers. Updated information includes wage data, career growth projections, and education and training requirements.

Pathfinder allows users to compare careers, schools and programs to create a roadmap to a successful future. Create your own roadmap by visiting Pathfinder.MiTalent.org.

Personalized support for individuals who are visually impaired

The Michigan Bureau of Services for Blind Persons (BSBP) provides training and services that empower people to achieve their individual goals.

If you or a loved one are blind or visually impaired, BSBP will work with you to define your goals and identify appropriate training and services.

Depending upon your needs and eligibility for specific services, BSBP may also provide some types of adaptive equipment, computer software, and postsecondary education.
