The founder of Kitty Litter, a simple product that sparked an entirely new industry, Ed Lowe distinguished himself not only for his business prowess, but also his initiatives to support entrepreneurship. Ed and Darlene Lowe established the Edward Lowe Foundation in 1985 as a national nonprofit organization. Their vision was to support entrepreneurship and land stewardship as strategies to make communities more vibrant places to live, work and play.
Today Dan Wyant serves as president of the Edward Lowe Foundation, an operating foundation that champions the entrepreneurial spirit by assisting entrepreneurs and the organizations that serve them. Wyant was the director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture from 1996 to 2005. He began his career in the private sector at Ralston Purina Company and Lowe’s International. Wyant also has been a legislative liaison and the associate director of Governor John Engler’s Office of Legislative Affairs.
Leadership Lowdown host Vic Verchereau caught up with him to talk about leadership and the work of the Edward Lowe’s Foundation. Listen in for some great tips on leadership!
