Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Urges Swift Resolution to State Budget Impasse

MBN: US CapitolLansing- The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) is urging Michigan lawmakers to come together to approve a responsible and balanced state budget before the October 1 fiscal year deadline, emphasizing the need for stability and continued economic growth.

Tim Daman, President & CEO of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, stated, “As Michigan approaches the October 1 fiscal year deadline, we urge state lawmakers to quickly come together to finalize and pass a responsible, balanced budget. Uncertainty surrounding the state budget has real impacts on our region’s economy — delaying critical infrastructure projects, creating planning challenges for schools and local governments, and leaving businesses without the clarity they need to make hiring and investment decisions.

He continued, “Our region’s employers expect and deserve a budget that prioritizes economic growth, invests in talent and infrastructure, and provides stability for Michigan families. We are calling on leaders in both parties to work together, resolve the budget impasse, and keep Michigan moving forward.”

The LRCC emphasized that timely passage of the budget is essential to supporting job growth, advancing key infrastructure projects, and maintaining Michigan’s competitive edge in attracting business investment.
