
Construction begins at South Washington Park & Mount Vernon Park
A Groundbreaking ceremony involving Doug Fleming, executive director, Lansing Housing Commission (LHC) and Lansing Mayor Andy Schor took place Thursday, Dec. 17, at 4 p.m.at Mt. Vernon Park, 3338 N. Waverly Road, Lansing.
The $28.5 million projects slated at both South Washington Park and Mount Vernon Park are part of LHC’s holistic approach focused on moving people forward in the community. This vision begins with providing more high-quality housing and then offers support and resources for home ownership, health and mental well-being.
Improvements include new roofs, brick restoration, flooring, windows, kitchens, bathrooms, plumbing and electrical upgrades, appliances, site improvement, enhanced security and more.
