LANSING, MI – A recent report released by Nationwide named the Lansing – East Lansing MSA 9th in the United States for growth in housing health and 3rd most improved overall in fourth quarter 2015. The report, Nationwide’s Health of Housing Markets Report, utilized data from four categories to determine the ranking: employment, demographics, the mortgage market, and house prices. According to the report, “if job growth increases in an MSA, then the resulting rise in incomes creates additional housing demand. Consumers have a greater ability to earn and save for home purchases, increasing sales and pushing up house prices.” Job growth has been strong through the Lansing region.
