LANSING, Mich.,– The K-12 Alliance of Michigan released the following statement from Executive Director Robert McCann in response to Friday’s Consensus Revenue Estimating Conference.
“Today’s promising economic news makes it increasingly clear that now is the time to reinvest in Michigan’s public schools by funding an SFRC-based budget and ending our state’s long history of siphoning money out of the School Aid Budget. The past few years have been incredibly challenging for our education system and it’s long past time we renewed our dedication to our students and those who are charged with preparing them for their futures. We look forward to working with Governor Whitmer and our legislative leaders to ensure we can fulfill this commitment to our students who deserve nothing less.”
