Invisible Giants Legacy & Leadership Foundation welcomes home Flint Natives making extraordinary paths in Hollywood.
Who: Invisible Giants Legacy & Leadership Foundation, International Academy of Flint, and Arose Foundation welcomes the Flint community for an afternoon to network and hear the career journey of amazing women from Flint making an impact in Hollywood. Be inspired by these ladies that have set forth a blazing trail and coming home to be an inspiration, providing black girl magic, sharing their journey, and their legacy!
Shondalia White – Actress, stand-up comic, and writer is recently known as Attorney Karen Jones on the STARZ hit series Black Mafia Family (BMF). The Flint native is working on multiple projects and always make time to come home (Flint) to be with family. She has completed extensive voiceover roles in several animated films and tv programs including Nickelodeon’s Casagrandes, Pixar’s Onward, and most recently recurring role on Freedom’s Good Trouble. Other appearances on Emmy nominated series Black-ish, Animal Kingdom, 9-1-1: Lone Star and Family Reunion.
Kayla Wanakee – Host, actress, and advocate who has a heart for youth and women’s rights. The Flint native is an ambassador for several nonprofit organizations geared toward inner-city youth empowerment such as Girls with Gifts and Dreamchasers Inc. She is the founder of Hope Together, Inc. a nonprofit organization that promotes inclusion and resources for the Special Needs Community. She is the new host of The Undoing, a talk show on the Black Women’s Network dedicated to telling the stories of unconventional trailblazers. She is also the host for Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts nationwide Woman Evolve Tour.
Jonique Donald – Community School Director at the Flint Community Education Initiative, CRIM Fitness Foundation – International Academy of Flint. She is an Advocate for community scholars and youth development and pours into the youth for the best quality of life programming and educational excellence.
Moderator – Jashell Mitchell – Flint native and Flint Northern graduate, member of the Back-to-Back Girls Basketball State Championship 1995-1996, and 2016 inductees of the Greater Flint Sports Hall of Fame. Experienced professional with collegiate and professional sports, an HBCU graduate of Bethune-Cookman University and The University of Memphis.
