Michigan Business Network: Duggan for Michigan

(Detroit) – International Painters and Allied Trades Council 1M today endorsed Independent candidate Mike Duggan for Governor of Michigan.

Adding to a growing list of significant endorsements, IUPAT District Council 1M joins pipefitters, police officers, electric workers, and more than a dozen other labor organizations to recognize that Mike Duggan is the best candidate to lead Michigan forward.

“Mike Duggan has consistently demonstrated a commitment to working families, strong labor standards, and economic development that benefits all Michiganders. Throughout his tenure as Mayor of Detroit, he has championed projects that created good-paying jobs, supported union labor, and revitalized communities while maintaining transparency and accountability,” wrote Robert Gonzalez, Business Manager of IUPAT District Council 1M in the organization’s endorsement letter. “The members of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 1M stand united in supporting Mike Duggan for Governor and encourage

all Michiganders to join us in this endorsement.”

Duggan has received endorsements from business leaders and labor members across the State of Michigan. The Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce endorsed Duggan in July, and nearly weekly endorsements from labor organizations have continued to rack up in Duggan’s favor.

IUPAT DC5“The support of the painters and allied trades reinforces what this campaign is all about — bringing people together to get real results,” said Duggan. “Michigan doesn’t need more political fighting. We need leaders who know how to roll up their sleeves and get things done.”
