“Whether their background is in investment management, community outreach, program development, or law and business strategy, our new board members all share a common purpose: to strengthen whole-child learning and family support systems,” said Steelcase Foundation President Dr. Daniel Williams. “By being intentional to bring people into our foundation with different strengths and backgrounds, we’re working to create space for collaboration and cross-system learning, which is the next step in moving the needle on systemic change.”
The Steelcase Foundation is making a concerted effort to align its approach and grantmaking with community needs. As board and committee terms end and new voices are added, the appointment of these new leaders helps to further align the foundation’s efforts with the current climate and the needs of those it serves. The term for a board member is three years, and the investment committee term is also three years.
Before becoming a board member, Mac was a member of the Steelcase Foundation Investment Committee. She is the Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chief Information Officer of Bostwick Investment Consulting. With 30 years of investment experience and two decades of family office experience, she has many career highlights, including her involvement in Michigan Health Endowment Fund’s bipartisan board, where she was appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Through this role, she contributed to various statewide initiatives that focused on vulnerable populations’ access to food, transportation, and support programs.
Lim has worked for a variety of organizations, assisting with the development of community-centered advocacy programs. As a current lead consultant at Lim Consulting Inc., he offers strategic support to fight racial injustice and other mission-driven initiatives. His previous role as a Director of the Center for Education, Policy, and Research at the Urban League of West Michigan adds to his experience and commitment to addressing barriers to family and student success and advocating for fair education policies. He also previously served as a strategist at Urban Core Collective.
Rosalez has worked in arts and community engagement for over 15 years. She currently serves as the CEO of Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities, where she provides her expertise in community outreach and program development to advance organizational goals. Rosalez’s passion for empowering communities and cultivating connection makes her an excellent addition to the board.
Blazina has held various roles throughout her career, ranging from an attorney to Chief Legal Officer to Secretary, and now holds the role of Senior Vice President, International, Digital, and Strategy at Steelcase Inc. She worked at Whirlpool Corporation for eleven years and held multiple roles, such as the General Counsel and Vice President of Government Relations, where she supervised an entire region’s legal and government affairs. She has experience in corporate strategy, business operations, government relations, and more, bringing a broad legal and business background to the board.
Pew, who has served on the board of the Steelcase Foundation for the past nine years, has been elected as a new member of the investment committee. Outside of the foundation, he has worked as a licensed clinical social worker and therapist. He currently serves as an advisory board member at A Way Out Inc., showcasing his dedication to addressing systemic barriers in underserved communities.
Vogelsang, who has been elected as a new member of the investment committee, is currently the Co-CEO and Co-CIO of Bostwick Investment Consulting alongside Mac. Vogelsang is on the boards of the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, Grand Valley State University Foundation, and Michigan Gift of Life and a member of the Meijer Foundation, Frey Foundation, Grand Valley State University’s Endowment, and the Council of Michigan Foundations. She holds an MBA from Grand Valley State University as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.
