Question: How would you summarize the overall experience of MiCareerQuest Capital Area this year, and what were the key takeaways in terms of engagement and the industries showcased?

This year, over 2,000 students attended our morning sessions from area schools and over X people joined us for our first public session in the event’s history. our first public session in the event’s history.

The majority of students are from our local communities in Eaton, Ingham and Clinton counties, which allows them to see the opportunities right in their back yard.

Over 70 local businesses highlighted their industries through hands-on exhibits at MiCareerQuest Capital Area.

Question: How did students respond to the exhibitors at MiCareerQuest Capital Area?

Were there any exhibits that particularly stood out to students or any memorable success stories of student engagement?

Career fields at the event included business, information technology, arts, communications, manufacturing, engineering, industrial technology, natural resources, agriscience, and health and human services.

We also focused this year on more emerging industries like virtual reality and technology which were big hits this year.

Some of the standout activities this year included: (be sure to list the activity and the employer)

Question: What are your thoughts on the long-term impact of MiCareerQuest Capital Area in shaping the region’s workforce?

MiCareerQuest Capital Area plays a crucial role in shaping the region’s workforce by helping students and job seekers make more informed career decisions, build vital skills and connect directly with employers.

By connecting students directly with employers and industry professionals, events like MiCareerQuest help to foster meaningful relationships early in a student’s career journey.
For many students, events like this are eye-opening experiences that expose them to career paths they might not have otherwise considered.

By showcasing a variety of careers, MiCareerQuest broadens students’ horizons and helps them identify careers that align with their passions and skills, potentially leading to higher job satisfaction and career stability in the long run.

The combination of creativity, excitement and curiosity that is visible throughout the event is one of our staff’s favorite parts.
