ICYMI: LAFCU Grows Tech Talent with New Security Engineer, Tech Specialist, & Promotion

LANSING, Mich. — LAFCU has strengthened its information technology team with the additions of Jayson Haralson as security engineer and De’Jon Harris as technology specialist, as well as the promotion of Dana Reynolds to program and technical support specialist.

MBN: LAFCU Jayson HJayson Haralson rejoins LAFCU as security engineer after previously serving as an IT specialist in 2023. In his new role, he will administer, secure and manage the credit union’s network infrastructure. He brings experience as a computer network support specialist and system administrator for companies in Illinois. He also served part time with the U.S. Air Force for more than six years, through October 2025, in the traffic management office, supporting transportation operations and ensured compliance with military regulations.

A Lansing resident, Haralson holds a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Northwood University in Midland and a master’s degree in science from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.

MBN: DeJon HDe’Jon Harris joins LAFCU as a technology specialist, providing technical guidance in project and data management, help desk support and departmental communications. He previously worked as a security supervisor for Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills, where he oversaw safety operations, monitored IP-based security systems and managed staff access. Earlier in his career, he served with the U.S. Air Force as a civil base engineer in Montgomery, Alabama.

Harris, a Grand Blanc resident, holds CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications from the Computing Technology Industry Association, as well as multiple IBM certifications in IT and cybersecurity. He also completed the School of Engineering and Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Wichita Falls, Texas.

MBN: Dana RDana Reynolds has been promoted to program and tech support specialist from her previous role as a senior member service representative. In her new role, she provides technical support for LAFCU’s software systems, assists in troubleshooting, and resolves issues reported by end users. She also collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement fixes, enhance system functionality and ensure the efficient operation of software systems.

A resident of Lansing, Reynolds holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Michigan State University in East Lansing. She previously served as compliance officer at the W Tax Group in Southfield and as a self-defense facilitator at Michigan State University.

“Technology plays a vital role in delivering secure, efficient service to our members,” said Emily Jannereth, LAFCU’s chief technology officer. “We’re excited to welcome Jayson and De’Jon to the team and to celebrate Dana’s well-earned promotion. Their collective expertise and commitment will further enhance LAFCU’s IT capabilities and member experience.”
