During the Detroit Regional Chamber’s 2026 Mackinac Policy Conference, “Live From Mackinac Brought to You by DTE Energy” featured discussions with Michigan legislators and key leaders from both parties on current political and economic issues.
Sponsored by DTE Energy, this popular three-day program was hosted throughout the Conference, with the Chamber’s Vice President of Public Policy and Business Advocacy, Brian J. Shoaf, as emcee.
Programming featured a wide-range of conversations, including a discussion on the Chamber’s May 2026 Michigan Voter Poll, the importance of bipartisanship over political performances, the role of data centers in Michigan, and more.

The Chamber has been named a Communications Award of Excellence winner by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) for its 2025 MichAuto State of Automobility report.
ACCE’s Awards for Communications Excellence program is designed to showcase top communications and marketing work of chambers of commerce and similar organizations. As one of the nation’s largest, longest-standing chambers, the Chamber made a strong showing among award recipients.
This report, published under the Chamber’s automotive and mobility industry organization, MichAuto, was touted by judges:
“The depth of research behind this piece is exceptional. It tells the story of an industry with clarity, detail and purpose while remaining accessible and easy to digest. The charts and graphs are especially effective, vividly conveying complex information in a way that supports the report’s larger narrative. We also appreciated the chamber’s willingness to address industry challenges head-on, with both care and confidence — something that can be difficult for a chamber to do. Combined with colorful photography, strong graphics and a clean, well-flowing layout, the report stands out as a polished, thoughtful and award-worthy product.”
