IBC Quarterly Newsletter – Spring 2023

MSU-IBC Cropped-1

Greetings!

Spring at the IBC has been busy! I would like to take this time to highlight some of the amazing work being done by our team.

To start with, I am proud to announce that our student team recently won second place at the 2023 NASBITE International Undergraduate Case Competition. These competitions emphasize skills like teamwork, strategic-thinking, and public speaking. Mentoring a team and participating in these events has been a new initiative for us, but it has been fantastic to see the enthusiasm and growth in our students.

Moving on, we have been focused on supporting the business community through programs such as the Global Business Club, Lansing Economic Club, and support of the 2023 A-CAPP Brand Protection Strategy Summit. We were particularly pleased to hold the first in-person Global Business Club event since before the pandemic. On March 24, 2023 we were joined on campus by panelists from Deloitte, Steelcase, Supply Chain Solutions, the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council, and MSU’s Broad School of Business to discuss the need for diversity, equity, and inclusion in global supply chain management.

We are excited to spend this time developing next year’s programming and look forward to coming back together in the fall.

Wishing you a happy and relaxing summer!

Kind regards,

Ahmet H. Kirca, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of International Business and Marketing

Director of the International Business Center and MSU-CIBER
