As VP of member engagement, Becky manages the execution of the MI Chamber’s Signature Events series, educational and training offerings. She also works closely with the Michigan Chamber Foundation to execute goals and initiatives aimed at strengthening Michigan’s business and economic climate. As a member of the Business Advocacy team, Becky also utilizes her legislative skills to assist on state budget related items of interest to MI Chamber members.
Prior to joining the MI Chamber, Becky spent over half of her career in various leadership roles within the Michigan House and Senate, working on state budgets and policies that impact Michigan businesses and families. Additionally, Becky spent years developing the state budget alongside many MI House Speakers and Appropriations Chairs, whom she assisted in managing billions of state and federal dollars to create fiscally responsible and targeted budgets.
In her experience in the private sector, Becky served as the director of external and legislative affairs with AT&T Michigan, where she aided in the passage of key legislation and developed relationships with local officials throughout the pandemic to assist with distance working and learning.
Becky holds a bachelor’s degree from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. She is the recipient of the 2018 Legislative Leadership Award and two-time nominee for the Jon Farley Exceptional Legislative Staffer Award. She is a member of various equestrian organizations including the American Quarter Horse Association, and the National Snaffle Bit Association, and regularly volunteers with local efforts in her hometown.
Her favorite part about working at the MI Chamber is the team’s collaborative approach to addressing members’ needs, pragmatic solutions facing businesses of all shapes and sizes and the strong professional environment that promotes growth and success for each employee and business member.
