May 2026 News & Updates
State-wide associations within the housing industry are weighing in on the significant impact of the first Lansing Growth Fund project…
“Holmes & Pleasant Grove is a thoughtful, community-driven project that brings together workforce housing, local
business, and shared space in a way that reflects the history and future of this Southwest Lansing neighborhood. The focus on resident ownership stands out, creating a unique opportunity for people to have a true stake in what’s being built around them.
Through our Housing TIF tool, MSHDA is able to support this development that adds housing and strengthens the broader community. It’s a win-win, and a great example of how the right investment, in the right place, can create lasting impact.”
— Amy Hovey, CEO and Executive Director
Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA)

IN THE COMMUNITY
April’s spring neighborhood cleanup with S.W.A.G. was a resounding success! Thanks to all who volunteered and showed up to support the community!
The Greater Lansing Hispanic Chamber was established as a Hispanic-led catalyst for regional prosperity, grounded in two fundamental pillars: Workforce Development and Business Education.
We translate this mission into practical outcomes through comprehensive entrepreneurial training—most notably our “Road to Retail” collaboration with Meijer. In the workforce sector, our primary objective is to increase human capital; we achieve this by connecting local individuals with specific training opportunities that directly enhance their skills and elevate their earning potential. Beyond individual advancement, the Chamber actively collaborates to shape the region’s broader economic landscape through engagement and networking.
As a dedicated partner in these efforts, we proudly champion major impact initiatives, including securing redevelopment funding for South West Lansing, advancing the Holmes & Pleasant Grove project, and launching the Lansing Growth Fund. Ultimately, our goal in this project is to redefine the very nature of civic development—placing the power of ownership back into the hands of the people who live there, while building reliable pathways that make it easier for financial institutions to invest confidently in the historically overlooked neighborhoods of mid-sized cities. We are “testing the waters” to gauge investor interest in a potential offering under Regulation Crowdfunding. While we would love to hear from you about your interest in investing, at this time we are not asking for a commitment or for any money. Please don’t send us any money, since we cannot accept it and will have to return it to you. Only if and when we file an offering statement on Form C with the SEC will we be able to accept money or anything else of value from investors; and even then, any payment must be made through a licensed crowdfunding portal. For now, an indication of interest is not binding and involves no obligation of any kind.
