Philanthropy and Non-profitHeather Carpenter is an Assistant Professor at the School of Public, Nonprofit and Health Administration with Grand Valley State University, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Carpenter recently published a book titled, “The Talent Development Platform.” Chris reviews this book with her and they discuss how this can impact the talent gap in Michigan through hiring, training, and retaining quality employees.

They also look at how to tie competencies together with the goals of a company, and that 80% of learning for a career happens on a job, and that there can be low cost ways to develop and train employees.
