Taking place on October 1, the Haunted edition of this popular event offers
harrowing history, spooky science, and education with a twist
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) is kicking off spooky season with the return of its popular evening event, Museum Adventure After Dark. The one-night fundraiser offers an 18+ experience that includes history, science, and culture-themed activities, themed cocktails and mocktails, light bites, and exclusive after-hours access to all three floors of Museum exhibits, including the 1928 Spillman Carousel.
On Thursday, October 1, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to engage with Museum experts in activities focused on history, science, and culture, each with a terrifying twist.
Guests can also enjoy a special Planetarium showing of Violent Universe, narrated by Patrick Stewart. Discover the violent forces at work within our universe, from star explosions to asteroids, and what might happen if they stray too close to Earth.
“At Museum Adventure After Dark, everyone is having a great time, including staff,” said Lyric Floria, Development Manager at the GRPM. “We love sharing everything the Public Museum has to offer with an adult audience. And we get to do that in creative and engaging ways that bring people together, while raising crucial funding to support the Museum.”
Museum Adventure After Dark tickets are $55 per person, with a discounted rate of $50 for GRPM Members, and include full access to the Museum and all activities, light bites, and one free drink ticket (with cash bars available throughout the night). Guests can support the Museum while enjoying a fun and unique night out through their ticket purchase, donations, and by participating in a raffle and gift card pull.
A portion of the proceeds from Museum Adventure After Dark ticket sales will benefit the Grand Rapids Public Museum Foundation, which provides funding for the care of our Collections and educational programs at the Museum, such as accessible pricing for camps, free public events, and community outreach initiatives.
