LANSING, Mich. — Monday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced that the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin bridge repairs this week in Crawford and Roscommon Counties. The bridge crosses the county line. Based on economic modeling, these investments are expected to support 12 jobs.
“It’s officially the start of orange barrel season, and I’m excited to kick things off by moving dirt and fixing the damn roads across Michigan,” said Governor Whitmer. “Since I took office, we’ve fixed 23,000 lane miles of road and 1,600 bridges, supporting thousands of good-paying, local jobs without raising taxes by a dime. This construction season, let’s roll up our sleeves and keep getting things done, so Michiganders can get to work, drop their kids off at school, and run errands safely.”
