Make Your Move in Flint & Genesee launches the ‘Summer of Possibilities’

Each summer, there are more than a quarter of a million people from out of town who stay overnight in Flint & Genesee to enjoy the amazing arts and culture scene, experience the great outdoors, run in a nationally recognized race, show off their sweet classic car, or visit their loved ones. No matter why they come here, Flint & Genesee Education & Talent is working to get them to stay with the “Summer of Possibilities” campaign.

“Through Make Your Move in Flint & Genesee, we are working to bring people to Genesee County to work, live, and play,” says Brianna Mosier, executive director of Education & Talent. “We know that summer is a huge time for travel in the area and are hoping to capture the hearts of people who might want to make their summer vacation a lot longer.”

Upgrade your knowledge with these professional development workshops

Through Flint & Genesee Education & Talent, a division of the Flint & Genesee Group, several business training workshops will be offered in the second half of the year. These trainings offer a great opportunity for individuals or organizations seeking to enhance their knowledge and add new depth to their work.

Training topics include how to market your business or brand, how to create a more inviting workplace, and how to run your business using best practices.

Genesee County interns gain more than job experience with the Flinterns program

Last month, Flinterns, a program facilitated by Flint & Genesee Education & Talent – a division of the Flint & Genesee Group – kicked off with a new cohort of 89 interns. During the day-long excursion, students participated in team-building activities, professional development sessions, panel discussions, and excursions around the area.

“Through the Flinterns program, we are working to create a rounded internship experience that not every employer has the capacity to offer,” says Brianna Mosier, executive director of Flint & Genesee Education & Talent. “Not only does this make sure the students have a fun and rewarding experience, but it also shows off our wonderful community from our local professional networks to the activities and things to do in the area, showing students that Flint & Genesee is a great place to land after college.”

An industry leader with Genesee County Roots: Dee Cramer

IOn any given day, thousands of drivers pass by Dee Cramer, Inc.’s headquarters in Grand Blanc Township without realizing the national reputation and family legacy behind the unassuming building.

But what began in 1937 as a small, two-man residential furnace operation in Flint is now the largest sheet metal contractor in Michigan and sixth largest in the United States. Not to mention a powerhouse in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.

It’s taken a whole lot of hard work and teamwork to get there.

“I firmly believe we are the technology leaders we are today thanks to the values my grandfather, Dee Cramer, believed in and instilled in all of us,” said Matt Cramer, president.
