Business owners, entrepreneurs invited to second annual Immerse Summit

Whether you are a small business with deep roots in the community or an entrepreneur looking for a way to get your idea off the ground, the Immerse Entrepreneurial & Small Business Summit is for you. Hosted by the Flint & Genesee Small Business Support Hub, a program of the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance, and sponsored by Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Immerse is a day-long event aimed at uplifting area small business owners and entrepreneurs.

“After our first summit, we had plenty of people asking when we would do this again,” says Karena Hamlet, program director of business services for the Economic Alliance, a division of the Flint & Genesee Group. “This year, we are adding more breakout sessions to accommodate the demand, along with the traditional networking, updates, and second annual Immerse Awards.”

Festivals and events to bring over 85,000 visitors to Flint & Genesee

Explore Flint & Genesee, the region’s convention & visitors bureau reports an estimated impact of $22,860,352 on the horizon thanks to annual events returning to Flint & Genesee. A division of the Flint & Genesee Group and contracted by the Genesee County Board of Commissioners as the county’s destination marketing organization, Explore Flint & Genesee works to retain these events and support organizers in booking room nights, organizing volunteers, and promoting events.

“It’s festival season in Flint & Genesee, and we are so happy to help welcome back our longstanding mainstays in our community,” says Amari Steward, executive director of Explore Flint & Genesee. “Our team is working to support organizers in their efforts to produce top-notch festivals and events that are going to make a huge impact on our region.”

Coordinated by GST Michigan Works!, MiCareerQuest East will provide thousands of students with the chance to speak with professionals and learn what it’s like to work in advanced manufacturing, health sciences, construction trades, and other in-demand sectors.
