As a community advocate, LAFCU will host a free one-hour webinar, Fraud Prevention 101: What Everyone Should Know, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, as part of its commitment to member security and community education. The session will be led by a loss prevention specialist from LAFCU and is open to anyone who wants to learn how to better safeguard their personal and financial information. Participants will hear practical tips, proven strategies, and critical insights about how to recognize, prevent, and respond to fraud in today’s digital environment.
“Protecting our members goes beyond providing secure systems and financial services — it’s about making sure people have the knowledge and tools to protect themselves in everyday life,” said Patrick Spyke, LAFCU CEO. “Fraudsters are constantly finding new ways to target consumers, which is why education is so important. This webinar will help participants, whether they are LAFCU members or not, understand what to look out for and how to stay safe.”
LAFCU emphasizes that fraud prevention is more than keeping ATM, credit, and debit cards secure. From phishing attempts to identity theft, being informed is one of the most powerful defenses against fraud.
