The Chamber Applauds the Bipartisan Action for Funding Selfridge Fighter Mission​

The Chamber applauds the Michigan House, Senate, and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for their bipartisan effort to bolster the mission at Selfridge ANGB by funding the Selfridge Fighter Mission.

Chamber President and Chief Executive Officer Sandy K. Baruah shared the following statement:

“The Detroit Regional Chamber applauds the House, Senate, and Governor for their bipartisan effort to bolster the mission at Selfridge ANGB, which demonstrates the benefits of finding common ground to better serve Michiganians. Selfridge is a critical part of the state’s booming aerospace and defense industry. This important investment will keep nearly $800 million annual economic impact in the region while providing a boost to our manufacturing base.”

The Chamber’s role: Earlier this week, the Chamber led a coalition of support from business and local governments in support of the Selfridge investment, sending a letter to the Michigan Legislature.

Baruah Joins WDIV-TV’s ‘Flashpoint’ to Discuss 2026 Mackinac Policy Conference​
