Michigan EIBC hails business incentive bills on the horizon

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council (Michigan EIBC) applauded a plan from the Legislature to use state and federal surplus dollars to create three economic development funds.

Several bills are anticipated to begin moving in the Legislature this week and will incentivize major business expansion projects that would bring more jobs to Michigan.

“After Michigan missed out on Ford’s battery plant, it’s crucial our state positions itself to capitalize on future investment opportunities from major businesses,” said Dr. Laura Sherman, president of Michigan EIBC. “These economic investments would support Michigan as it builds upon its successful advanced mobility and supply chain industries. The bills would prevent our state from missing out on another golden opportunity for development and would spur growth in advanced energy jobs for hard-working Michiganders.”
