(Detroit) — United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers, and Allied Workers Local 149 have announced their endorsement of Independent candidate for Governor of Michigan Mike Duggan.

Building Trades, fighting for equitable economic policies, and listening deeply to the concerns of everyday Michiganders. You’ve shown not only vision, but your ability to get shit done across both sides of the aisle. And in this moment, that matters,” wrote Jonathan Crosby, PAC Coordinator of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers & Allied Workers, LU 149. “As someone who believes in ‘local jobs for local people,’ we’re especially encouraged by your plans to invest in Michigan’s industrial backbone, protect collective bargaining, and ensure that no worker is left behind. Your platform aligns with the values we fight for every day.”

Local 149 represents members who apply all types of roofing and waterproofing systems, including but not limited to: all low-sloped roofing systems (vegetative and solar photovoltaic roofs), structural waterproofing, steep-sloped roofing systems, air barrier applications, and building envelopes.
