Detroit – Independent candidate for Governor Mike Duggan announced today that in the fourth quarter of fundraising in 2025, he raised $632,007.94.
Leading the count of labor endorsements over all Democratic candidates, and the Chamber of Commerce endorsement count ahead of all Republican candidates, Duggan enters 2026 with significant momentum.
Of his donations, 94 percent came from donors in Michigan, more proof that Michiganders are ready for a change and are backing their feelings with their dollars.
Polling released in January showed that when compared to the frontrunners in the Democratic and Republican gubernatorial primaries, Duggan would earn 26% of the general election vote, whereas the Democrat would earn 32% and the Republican would earn 34%, all within the margin of error. During a straw poll at the Northern Michigan Policy Conference, Duggan bested all Republican and Democrat candidates present – including both party frontrunners.
“Michigan is ready for an end to the ‘us versus them’ politics. This is what coalition building looks like, not that the politicians of the broken system would recognize it,” Duggan said. “You can see it yourself in the amount of donors from the state of Michigan we’re getting. It’s a movement that hasn’t slowed down since the day it started.”
The news of increasing support reflects Duggan’s recent announcement of two more union endorsements, bringing the overall total to sixteen, more than any of the other candidates combined. The empowering number of union endorsements builds on a list of business groups and over 200 current and former elected officials that have endorsed Duggan for Governor.
Running his first statewide campaign and doing so without the backing and resources of a political party’s infrastructure, Duggan is making an impressive showing from the relationships he’s developing as he covers the state, meeting with voters that feel they’ve been taken advantage of by parties in the past.
“Our polling is increasing, our fundraising is increasing, our endorsements are increasing,” Duggan said, “and November 3rd, 2026 will be Independent’s Day in Michigan.”
