Duggan Raises Nearly $1.2 Million in Third Quarter of Independent Campaign

Mike Duggan Wins a Third Term as Detroit’s Mayor - The New York Times

(Detroit) – Independent candidate for Governor Mike Duggan announced today that his campaign raised more than $1.17 million in the third quarter of 2025 — a clear sign of growing support for his independent run. Duggan heads into the final stretch of the year with more than $2.46 million cash on hand.

Of the dollars raised, $1,045,140.12, or 88 percent, came from Michigan donors.

An internal campaign poll released last week shows Duggan in a statistical tie with leading Democratic and Republican candidates. Additional polling from the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce found that 58 percent of Michigan residents would consider voting for an independent candidate for Governor. Meanwhile, a Detroit News survey of Detroit residents found that 44 percent would choose Duggan over major party contenders.

“The numbers tell the story,” said Duggan. “I’m running for Governor of Michigan — and that’s where my support is coming from. While the other candidates are flying around the country chasing national donors, we’re building a campaign powered by people right here in Michigan.”

Duggan’s growing support mirrors strong polling trends and a steady stream of endorsements from both labor and business leaders. In Q3, Duggan announced support from more than 200 current and former elected officials and a growing list of labor and business groups – including Teamsters Joint Council 43, IBEW Local 58, IUPAT District Council 1M, and the Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce.

“People are tired of red versus blue — the shouting, the gridlock, the finger-pointing,” Duggan said. “I’m building a coalition of Michiganders who want to fix problems, not fight over them. Every day, more voters are joining us because they know we can do better when we work together.”
