DTMB-2

LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) hosted a groundbreaking of a solar array project at the state warehouse complex 3111 W. St. Joseph Street Lansing, MI yesterday afternoon. The official groundbreaking took place following a brief ceremony featuring remarks from Michael Turnquist, DTMB senior deputy director, State Facilities Administration; Michelle Lange, DTMB acting director, and representatives from the Lansing Board of Water & Light, Centennial Electric, and Matrix Consulting Engineers, Inc.

The solar array system will generate approximately 180,000 watts of electric power, providing 100% of the electricity needed to power the state warehouse complex, which includes six buildings. Once the project is completed, the state warehouse complex is expected to reach carbon neutrality in the first three years of operation.
