“Michigan has long been a leader in cybersecurity and continues to pave the way to ensure residents remain safe online,” said Governor Whitmer. “The Michigan Cyber Summit brings the public and private sectors together to find innovative ways we can protect our state and its residents in an ever-changing digital ecosystem. The High School Cyber Summit gives our students an opportunity to explore in-demand, high-paying field careers in IT and cybersecurity. Let’s continue to work together to keep Michiganders safe.” 

The 15th annual Michigan Cyber Summit will be held Thursday, Oct. 15 at the Vibe Collection Showplace in Novi. Cybersecurity experts from across the country will explore the strategies, technologies, and partnerships that are keeping Michigan at the forefront of cyber defense. The event is open to the public and will feature information for businesses professionals, educators, law enforcement, and government officials. The agenda will feature renowned keynote speakers and panelists, as well as experts from across the country to lead breakout sessions on a variety of key cybersecurity topics. 

Tickets for the Michigan Cyber Summit can be purchased at the summit’s official website. The cost is $95 for industry attendees, $80 for government and nonprofit employees, and $50 for college students and includes lunch and light snacks throughout the day. The agenda will be updated as speakers, sponsors, and breakout sessions are confirmed.  

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, DTMB will host the fourth annual High School Cyber Summit in Novi. The event brings together hundreds of high school students from across the state to take part in an interactive half-day agenda that introduces them to real-world cybersecurity challenges and hear how experts defend digital systems. Students will also explore cybersecurity career paths and have the opportunity to connect directly with leading public and private sector cybersecurity professionals. 

“We are excited to bring back the Michigan Cyber Summit and Michigan High School Cyber Summit,” said Eric Swanson, acting chief information officer. “These events give public and private sector professionals and students the opportunity to learn more about critical cybersecurity trends and see how we can work together to build a safer digital landscape.”   

To register for the Michigan High School Cyber Summit, visit the event website. The registration price is $35 per person and includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Schools may also apply for a scholarship to help cover event registration and transportation costs. Scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Schools can request more information on scholarship opportunities by visiting the registration page. The agenda for the High School Cyber Summit will be updated as speakers and sponsors are confirmed.
