LANSING, Mich. — Downtown Lansing Inc. (DLI) invites families and community members to hop into spring at the annual Downtown Egg-Stravaganza on Saturday, April 4. This rain-or-shine celebration promises a fun-filled, family-friendly day in the heart of Downtown Lansing.
The festivities begin with the 62nd Annual Capitol Lawn Easter Egg Hunt from 10–11 a.m. Youth participants, ages 0–12, are welcome and will be divided into age groups to ensure everyone has a chance to join the fun. Immediately following the hunt, families are encouraged to grab their baskets and follow the Easter Bunny to the 100–300 blocks of S. Washington Square, where downtown businesses and community partners will be handing out eggs, candy, and special treats. The Downtown Egg-Stravaganza is completely free and open to all. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to experience the energy and vibrancy of Michigan’s Downtown,” said DLI Executive Director Cathleen Edgerly. “We’re excited to welcome the community for a morning of fun and celebration.”
While enjoying the day’s activities, attendees are encouraged to explore local shops, restaurants, and attractions, many of which will feature special deals and promotions throughout the event. “For more than 60 years, the Downtown Lansing Egg-Stravaganza has brought families together in the heart of downtown,” said Amanda Huszti-Vickers, Community Impact Manager at Lake Trust. “Lake Trust is proud to support an event that encourages families to explore Downtown Lansing and connect with the local businesses that help the community thrive.” Downtown Lansing Inc. extends sincere thanks to event sponsors Lake Trust Credit Union, MSU Federal Credit Union, CATA, Capital City Market and Medi-Lodge for their generous support.
