DETROIT, Mich. – Delta Dental of Michigan is proud to announce today that the organization is taking part in this year’s America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit.

Delta Dental’s parade float on Thanksgiving Day will showcase the important work of dentists and those aspiring to work in the dental profession across Michigan.

“At Delta Dental, we’re invested in the future of dental hygiene by creating opportunities for young people to enter the profession and by reducing barriers for dental students across Michigan,” said Margaret Trimer, vice president of strategic partnerships for Delta Dental of Michigan. “We truly appreciate the difference these professionals make in their communities through improving patient health, enhancing patients’ quality of life and preventing disease.”

Delta Dental’s parade float will also highlight its scholarship and loan repayment programs. In July, the Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) proudly awarded $200,000 to 19 students in Michigan from six community colleges and universities to support their dental hygiene education. This support helps cover tuition costs and the instrument kits students need to begin their programs. More information can be found on the DDF’s website

Delta Dental and the DDF also awarded 32 dentists and dental hygienists more than $500,000 in loan repayments in September, which will help ease the debt burden for oral health professionals. More information is available in a recent press release
