Okemos, Michigan-More than 400,000 Michiganders with disabilities are ready, able and eager to work.
They just need the opportunity.
A workshop coming to East Lansing hopes to open the door and allow individuals with disabilities opportunities to find fulfilling employment locally.
The MI Hidden Talent Workshop is hosted by the Small Business Association of Michigan and will help more than 100 local businesses enact strategies so they can be intentional about hiring people with disabilities.
Delta Dental of Michigan is the title sponsor of the daylong event to be held October 28 at the Kellogg Center.
“One of our core values at Delta Dental is inclusion. We believe in providing a work environment in which all people, ideas and backgrounds are respected, supported and valued,” said Lisa Smith, human resources generalist at Delta Dental.
The MI Hidden Talent initiative was created in 2016 by Small Business Association of Michigan President Brian Calley in partnership with Michigan Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein.
