· Recently, Disability Advocates of Kent County (DAKC) caught wind of “Medical Rationing” and discrimination against disabled persons occurring in Detroit area hospitals.

· These disabled members of the community are being refused COVID-19 testing and care, because of their disabled status, which is in direct violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
· DAKC wants to make sure this is put to an end and it does not make its way to West Michigan hospitals
· In response, DAKC’s Executive Director, Dave Bulkowski, issued a letter to Grand Rapids area hospitals, reminding them of their constitutional obligation and thus ensuring this will not come to fruition in West Michigan.
