About a week after the popular Detroit Technology Exchange (DTX) Launch Detroit evening showcase, Chris Holman talks with Aigbe Idahosa, of Optis Creative (A video game crowdfunding service that protects donors, also known as backers, by overseeing development and financing of funded projects) about DTX, and how it is a business accelerator that’s based around students in the Detroit area.
They discuss the state of crowdfunding, and how it is focused on reward-based funding, though it is under-regulated and there is a lack of accountability. The metrics behind crowdfunding was discussed, and it was noted that there has been over $60 million lost in the past three years because of the lack of accountability. Chris and Aigbe discuss his plan to create a platform that requires recipients to be more transparent with their investors.
