Could new pollution control standards hurt gas prices?

There are often issues that we can consider as controversial or debatable. Dave Mielke presents one of these issues each week to give you “Something to Think About.” The topic for today is “Killing the Fossil Fuel Boom?” We are all enjoying the oil boom and the resulting lower gas prices. Natural gas prices have also hit a low at a time when we need the relief from the cost of heating our homes.  But does the EPA have other ideas? They are already threatening the coal industry and electric utility industry with new pollution control standards. The administration is also targeting oil trains. The EPA is now looking to crack down on methane. Do we have a methane pollution problem? Should the EPA impose new regulations? What are the consequences for oil and especially natural gas production?
