Foundation awarded grants to 115 Michigan organizations in 2025
JACKSON, MI, Dec. 2, 2025 – As communities across Michigan come together in celebration of Giving Tuesday, Consumers Energy and the Consumers Energy Foundation are proud to highlight the extraordinary organizations we partner with. These organizations’ work strengthens neighborhoods, supports families and fuels lasting positive change.
Throughout the year, the Consumers Energy Foundation has provided support to 115 organizations with missions that align with our commitment to our people, our planet and the prosperity of the communities we live, work and play in. At the same time, Consumers Energy employees have contributed their time, talent and resources to make a difference. Among these valued partners are Habitat for Humanity and United Way, two organizations that exemplify the power of collaboration and compassion.
“Giving Tuesday is a reminder of what’s possible when we come together,” said Cathy Wilson, secretary and treasurer of the Consumers Energy Foundation. “Our nonprofit partners work tirelessly to strengthen our communities, and we are grateful to support their efforts. We encourage everyone to find ways to give back this holiday season.”
Habitat for Humanity continues to transform lives by creating safe, affordable housing opportunities for Michigan families. Since 2013, the Power of Home campaign has raised $3.3M to support families across the state find safe, affordable housing. This year, 16 Habitat affiliates raised $300K and the company’s matching grant helped every dollar go further.
United Way plays a vital role in addressing the immediate and long-term needs of our communities. From early childhood education to financial stability programs and crisis response, United Way’s work touches thousands of lives every year. In 2025, Consumers Energy employees have contributed nearly $600,000 to the annual United Way Campaign. We are honored to stand alongside them in creating brighter futures for families in need.
“Partnerships like the one we have with Consumers Energy and the Foundation make it possible for United Way to meet critical needs and create lasting change,” said Chris Sargent, CEO of United Way of South Central Michigan. “Together, we’re helping families not only overcome challenges today but build stronger futures for tomorrow.”
Consumers Energy and the Consumers Energy Foundation invite Michiganders to remain in the spirit of giving, whether through volunteering, donating, or simply extending kindness to neighbors. Every act of generosity contributes to a stronger, more resilient Michigan.
