David Mengebier, Sr. Vice President for Governmental and Public Affairs for Consumers Energy, spoke to the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, April 2. Mengebier shared thoughts on the ongoing discussion in Lansing about Michigan’s next energy plan.
State lawmakers and the Governor could pass a law this year that could set the regulatory framework to help meet Michigan’s energy needs, ensuring that businesses have safe, affordable and reliable power. Consumers Energy also is developing new rates for energy-intensive businesses, and helps employers to reduce energy waste, allowing them to save money that can be used for equipment or put more people to work.
