LANSING, MICH. – Capital Region Community Foundation is launching its first “35 Hours of Giving,” an endowment fundraising campaign for local nonprofit organizations. The campaign begins at 7 am on May 3 and ends at 6 pm on May 4, 2023.
“We’re excited to provide this platform and resources for 35 Hours of Giving,” said Cindy Hales, vice president of community investment at the Community Foundation. “Having 17 local nonprofits join us in this pilot campaign shows a commitment to sustaining their good work for years to come.”
All gifts will be tracked in real-time on the 35 Hours of Giving website. Funds raised go directly to each nonprofit’s endowment fund held at the Community Foundation, where they are invested for the long-term sustainability of the organizations.
The 17 participating nonprofits are:
- Arts Council of Greater Lansing
- Burcham Hills Retirement Community
- Capital Area College Access Network
- CASA for Kids, Inc. Barry, Eaton & Ingham Counties
- Child and Family Charities
- Eaton Community Health
- Hospice of Lansing & Stoneleigh Residence
- Impression 5 Science Center
- Lansing Concert Band
- Meridian Historical Village
- Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence
- Origami Rehabilitation
- Reach Studio Art Center
- Small Talk Children’s Advocacy Center
- The House of Promise
- Woldumar Nature Center
- Youth Advisory Council at the Community Foundation
The Community Foundation raised $35,000 in advance to help them match donor gifts during the campaign. While online giving doesn’t begin until May 3, early mail-in donations are now being accepted.
“We are grateful to our corporate sponsors, Jackson, MSUFCU, and UnoDeuce, and the many individuals who understand the importance of endowments for our nonprofit partners,” said Hales.
