Communities First, Inc. to Host Community Candor LIVE! Breakfast Event on Philanthropy’s Impact in Detroit and Beyond

Detroit, MI – Communities First, Inc. (CFI) is proud to present Community Candor LIVE! — a dynamic breakfast conversation focused on the power and potential of philanthropy in Detroit and across the nation. This inspiring event will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Detroit Pistons Performance Center (6201 Second Ave., Detroit, MI 48202).
The discussion, titled The Impact of Philanthropy on Detroit and Beyond, will be moderated by Glenn Wilson, President and CEO of Communities First, Inc. He will be joined by a powerhouse panel of philanthropic and civic leaders:
  • Rip Rapson, President and CEO of The Kresge Foundation
  • Don Rencher, President and CEO of the Hudson-Webber Foundation
  • Arn Tellem, Vice Chairman of the Detroit Pistons

This engaging conversation will explore how philanthropy is shaping Detroit’s future, the key issues funders are prioritizing, and the strategies leaders are using to support thriving, resilient communities.

“At Communities First, we believe honest conversations spark real change and connect people with approachable leaders,” said Glenn Wilson, President and CEO of Communities First, Inc. “This Community Candor LIVE! event brings together great minds to explore how philanthropy can drive equitable growth in Detroit and beyond.”

A delicious breakfast will be served, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early and submit questions for the panel.
