For everyone’s health and safety, the 8th Annual Haven House Pancake Palooza will be held virtually via Zoom instead of in-person on February 12th.
I was so looking forward to seeing so many of you in person but now I get the opportunity to invite everyone to join me from the comfort of their own home, regardless of how far away that home may be. Now, even more friends, family members, and co-workers can watch me balance pennies on the end of a popsicle stick, make a donation to my virtual tip jar, or pay to have a pie thrown in my face!
Through the support of neighbors like you, Haven House has provided assistance to over 60 families from Pancake Palooza 2021, and I want to beat that! This year I’ve set a personal goal to raise more than $35,000 before the event.
The unfortunate reality is that there are families who are still recovering from the economic fallout from COVID-19 and when worst comes to worst, those families might be out on the streets. Haven House is there to help those families who might otherwise have nowhere else to go.
Haven House keeps families together. Through their Family Life program, parents can access financial resources to help them find permanent housing and kids receive tutoring and counseling aid to help them transition through their changing environments.
Your donation will support families like Brittany and her two daughters. Haven House was able to help after Brittany and her children were illegally evicted and could not return to their home. Brittany tried to find another rental but was struggling. As Brittany says, “I wasn’t sure what I needed to do, but I decided to call Haven House. This program was just what I needed.” Because of people like you who provide financial support for Haven House, Brittany had help during the most difficult time in her life. Now, Brittany says, “Me and the girls can sleep better than ever, we feel safe and secure.”
Many more families will be calling Haven House in the year to come. Some may have a temporary place to spend the night. Others, like the seven families sheltered at Haven House right now, will need immediate access to a warm, safe place to sleep so they can continue their housing searches in the morning. Each one of these families will need your help to get through their crisis and ultimately thrive at home. That’s why I’m inviting you to donate to Haven House through my fundraising page:
