LANSING, MI – Child and Family Charities today officially launched the final phase of its Be the Light capital campaign for a comprehensive, centralized campus on the former Greater Lansing McLaren property.
A Million Reasons, the grassroots initiative and final effort, will help raise the remaining $1 million for the $11.2 million renovation project. Key components for these funds will help build a playground, healing garden, collaborative spaces, and other areas to support children and families. At the new campus, Child and Family Charities are expanding its programs and services to meet a growing need.
“We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support we have received from our community,” said Julie Thomasma, CEO of Child and Family Charities. “This final phase allows everyone to show their support no matter how much they are able to give … all donations make a difference.”
Since 1911, Child and Family Charities have grown to meet the community’s needs with an array of programs, including behavioral health, child abuse prevention, child welfare, Gateway youth services, juvenile justice, Angel House independent living program, and foster care. Annually, these programs serve the mental health and well-being of over 15,000 individuals of all ages. The nonprofit organization collaborates with other organizations and supporters throughout Michigan.
