Chairwoman Stabenow Holding Bipartisan Hearing for Nation’s Next Farm Bill at Michigan State University

Witnesses to Testify on Importance of Farm Bill to Michigan Jobs and Economy 

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, will hold the first field hearing of the 117th Congress on the 2023 Farm Bill at Michigan State University this Friday, April 29thStabenow will be joined by U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR), the committee’s Ranking Member, to hear input from a diverse range of agricultural producers and stakeholders about our next Farm Bill. Senators Stabenow and Boozman will be available to speak to press following the hearing.

Passed roughly every five years, the Farm Bill supports our nation’s food and farm economy. The 2018 Farm Bill, which was co-authored by Stabenow and passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, will expire next September. 

What: The hearing, titled Growing Jobs and Economic Opportunity: 2023 Farm Bill Perspectives from Michigan, will focus on agriculture, conservation, rural economic development, research, forestry, energy, and nutrition policies.
