Chris Holman catches up with Ara Topouzian, President/CEO, Troy Chamber of Commerce, Troy, MI. A community that is always busy. They discuss the business activity along Big Beaver Road, and how Troy has come out of the Great Recession.

Ara and Chris cover redevelopment, new businesses, and how while Troy has no downtown per se, upper-end-retail and corporate businesses are attracted to that area. Hotels are coming in, and Troy has an ease of access via I-75 to Detroit, MI. He sees a good mixture of small medium and large businesses in that area. The chamber’s membership is holding up and in return the chamber wants to provides access and opportunity. Ara discusses his economic development background, and how they are listening to their members. Chris also points to the great shopping offered through the Somerset Collection.
