Each month Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW!) shares a CAMW! success story. This time around Jeffrey speaks with Teri Sand, from the CAMW! Business Services Team (BST), about how businesses can use the BST’s resources to their advantage.

• Teri introduced herself and her role at CAMW!, having been there for 17 years, and the BST lead for 3 years.
• CAMW! is a network of resources that partners with businesses to develop recruiting and retention strategies. They also partner with job seekers to enhance education and career opportunities.
• CAMW! serves three counties, Clinton, Ingham, and Eaton.
• CAMW!’s primary customers are the employers in the Lansing area.
• The BST was created to:
  • Proactively reach out to local businesses
  • Develop relationships
  • Minimize multiple people calling on the same business
  • Assist employers with filling their high wage, high skill, high demand jobs
  • Help employers find the best possible candidates
• How does CAMW! do that? They create a list based upon industry, size, growth, employer.

    • Customize recruiting strategy
    • Implement recruiting strategy
