In-person events return to CAMW!’s American Job Centers

LANSING, Mich. Capital Area Michigan Works! has restored the Employer of the Day events – enabling employers to interact with job seekers on-site – at CAMW!’s American Job Centers (AJCs). Over the past two years, CAMW! suspended Employer of the Day events to protect the health and safety of employers and job seekers during the pandemic.

“Hiring new employees can be expensive, especially now with rising advertising costs on job posting sites. CAMW!’s Employer of the Day events are a no-cost way to promote your organization and open positions,” said Teri Sand, Business Services Team (BST) Manager at CAMW!. “In the past, we’ve seen many local organizations successfully hire qualified candidates for open roles after meeting them at one of our Employer of the Day events.”

In the current professional environment, the primary method to apply for jobs is online. Employer of the Day is a great opportunity for companies to get their name in front of candidates and to personalize their process. Recruiters explain details about the open positions that may not be clear or included in job ads and talk with prospective employees about the benefits offered and the company culture. Recruiters also can conduct interviews during their event.

To celebrate the return of these in-person opportunities, there will be a whole week of events at all three AJCs from July 18-22. Employer of the Day will be scheduled onsite, the time is allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Check out which employers will be hosting Employer of Day events at each of the AJC locations in Ingham, Eaton, or Clinton counties at  camw.org/about-us/events.

Employers who are interested in learning about hosting an Employer of the Day event can email TSand@camw.net and review CAMW!’s use of facilities policy. Job seekers seeking assistance in preparing for meeting with employers can visit any of the AJCs or find resources on CAMW!’s website.

Capital Area Michigan Works!, a proud partner of the American Job Center network, connects with businesses to develop recruiting and retention strategies and strengthens the local workforce by enhancing education and career opportunities for job seekers. Learn more at camw.org.
