CAMW! Success Story: P.A.T.H.

Peckham.png

For April’s Capital Area Michigan Works! ‘Success Story’ Jeffrey caught up with Shawna Nyeholt, P.A.T.H. Manager, Peckham, Inc., Lansing, MI. They discuss what PATH (Partnership. Accountability. Training. Hope.) and AEP (Application Eligibility Period) are. Then the value of the PATH program. How the refugee population is served through PATH. Going into how PATH includes a community service/work experience component. Shawna shares how PATH focuses on career exploration, not just the first available job.

As well, PATH focuses on the importance of education to improve opportunities, In fact, PATH supports clients with services needed to obtain and maintain employment, including transportation, clothing, on-the-job training, subsidized employment trainings, etc. From there they look at the short-term nature of the program. To find out more information about PATH, please stop by a Capital Area Michigan Works! service center in Lansing, Charlotte or St. Johns. Locations are listed on their website www.camw.org.
