Non-Profit will distribute $50,000 in grants during December 11 Investment Night

HOLLAND, Mich., Oct. 9, 2024 – Women of Color Give (WOC Give) hosted their fifth-annual charity event, themed “Elevating You Brunch,” where they announced the Top Three recipients for their 2024 grant cycle. These selected nonprofits will present their programming for their portion of this year’s $50,000 GIVE at WOC Give’s annual Investment Night on December 11, 2024. For more information on this year’s grant cycle, visit wocgive.org/grants

The Elevating You Brunch was designed to celebrate and support the incredible women of color in the West Michigan community, allowing them to step into their power and connect with fellow WOC professionals in a vibrant setting. At the event, the following nonprofits were announced as this year’s Top Three grant recipients:

      Children’s Advocacy Center

      I Am Academy

Tri-Cities Puentes Initiative – Lakeshore Latinas

Women of Color GIVE Investors voted on these three local non-profits out of the 22 nominations they received this year, focusing on programs that advance, develop, and promote the BIPOC community on the Lakeshore.

“Women of Color GIVE invests in programming that uplifts BIPOC initiatives, bringing those closest to the pain to the frontlines of the conversation and movement for change,” said Rebekah Bakker, vice president of Woman of Color GIVE. “It’s always a challenge to pick just three local nonprofits each year, but we are thrilled to welcome these organizations to our annual Investment Night and learn how they plan to funnel this grant back into our community.”

During WOC Give’s Investment Night on December 11, the $50,000 in grants will be awarded as follows, ensuring each nominee walks away with a significant donation.

·       The first award recipient receives $25,000

·       The second award recipient receives $15,000

·       The third award recipient receives $10,000

The investor members of Women of Color GIVE will be the judges of each recipient’s presentation and have the final say over the distribution of their awards. For more details on the 2024 grant cycle, visit wocgive.org/grants.
